On May 17 we took our annual family camping trip to Galveston State Park. There was a total of 35 people in attendance this year! Our biggest year yet. We went with 7 other families and all had campsites near each other. We spent Saturday afternoon on the beach, cooked dinner at the camp site & then everyone gathered at our campsite (we had the fire pit) to sit around the camp fire, toast marshmallows, make S'mores, listen to music & let the kids run & play. It was so nice to be able to be with other families, let the kids play and have more freedom than they would have at home & not feel like we need to watch them like hawks. We did have one incident when a group of 4 year olds went missing. Sef & I noticed Maya was gone & as we were looking around for her we ran into 2 other parents looking for their kids. Sef found them in a group near the bathrooms where they had followed one of the 10 yr olds who was hunting for crabs. They had no clue they had done anything wrong!
Seri, my super social child, looks forward to this trip every year. I think she really wishes life was just like that & we lived in a group with other families so she would always have friends to play with. There are times that I agree with her. William did great & enjoyed his first camping trip. He was not too terribly impressed with the ocean, however. We put his feet in, as you will see in the pictures, but not two seconds after the picture was snapped, he started wailing. As much as he loves his bath, he does NOT like cold water! LOL So without further ado, here are our pictures. (mostly of the beach, my camera does not do well in low light so we didn't get many pictures around the camp site since the only time we were really there was at night). Enjoy!
